Resources for Studying Latin America & U.S. Latinos: NYPL and CUNY/GC Libraries

Librarians and archivists from the New York Public Library and CUNY provide an update on their research sources for studying Latin America and Latinos in the U.S. along with the best practices on how to access the wealth of primary sources in these areas.

Introduction
Paloma Celis Carbajal (M.L.S., UW-Madison) is Curator for Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Studies at the New York Public Library.

Silvia Cho (M.L.S., Queens College) is Library Liaison for Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures at The Graduate Center Library, CUNY.

Araceli Tinajero (Ph.D., Rutgers University) is Professor at City College and Graduate Center, CUNY (Moderator).

Other Panelists
Sarah Aponte (M.L.S., Queens College) is Chief Librarian of the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute and Associate Professor at The City College Libraries.

Cheryl Beredo (Ph.D., University of Hawaii) is Curator of the Manuscripts, Archives and Rare Books Division at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, NYPL.

Pedro Juan Hernández (M.A., University of Puerto Rico) is Senior Archivist in the Archives of the Puerto Rican Diaspora in the Centro de Estudios Puertorriqueños at Hunter College, CUNY.

Thomas Lannon (M.L.S, Pratt Institute) is Assistant Director for Manuscripts, Archives and Rare Book at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, NYPL.
