Oswaldo Mena (M.Sc. University College London; M.A., The Graduate Center, CUNY) is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at The Graduate Center, CUNY. He is a Latino Data Fellow at the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies and a 2024 Junior Scholar at The Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality. His research centers on comparative politics and political economy, with a focus on the political determinants of inequality, poverty, and redistributive policies — including social policy, taxation, and labor market policies — in Latin America. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he worked for nearly a decade in Mexico’s public sector.
